Clothes for Care is a new patient support initiative at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. We’re working to provide new, clean clothes for patients in need, to preserve their dignity and comfort when they are discharged from the hospital.
Why is this a need?
Not every trip to the hospital is planned ahead of time! A patient’s clothing may be ruined by their medical situation, collected by law enforcement as evidence, or cut off during treatment in the Emergency Department. If a patient doesn’t have someone who can bring fresh clothes, Clothes for Care can help.
How will it work?
A variety of new clothing, in a range of sizes, will be maintained by the EJCH Case Management team. Clinical staff members, such as a nurse, physician or social worker, will identify patients in need of a set of clothes. Hospital volunteers will deliver a basic, seasonally appropriate outfit for the patient to the patient’s room. Clothing is provided free of charge for patients.
What donations are needed?
1. Purchase clothing items from our Clothes for Care Amazon Wish List. All items are shipped directly to the hospital.
2. Host a clothing drive with your organization. Please note that all donations must be NEW. Due to infection prevention concerns, we cannot accept used items.
